pp 245 [3] errata A presentation copy of Golding's history of St Thomas's Hospital in London, inscribed at the head of the title page: 'Sir Gilbert Blane Bart with the Authors Respects'. Golding was the founder of London's Charing Cross Hospital; Blane a distinguished surgeon to the Admiralty in the nineteenth century. There is a further 1934 note by the opthalmologist Robert Rutsom James on the first blank: 'bought at Salkeld's for 5/6. The rarest of all Hospital Histories. Only once have I had another copy through my hands. RRJ 1934'. The book is bound in original paper covered boards with a recently renewed white paper spine with lettering.
