A history of Leeds police force with extensive ephemera from a Leeds police officer who is described on the half title as 'John Booth, No 457, joined Leeds City Police as a Constable on Feb 5th, 1928, retired as Sergeant 24th 1958. Served at Kirkstall Rd. ('D' Div) Millgarth St ('A' Division) and Chapeltown ('C' Division)'. A formal portrait in uniform by 'Lonnergan Leeds and Wakefield' of Booth on joining the force has been mounted on the first blank with Booth's photographic Warrant Card, identity card, a further photograph, letter applying to retire and vellum discharge certificate laid in to the rear. Together a fascinating collection in a very good copy of this uncommon book.
